SCR mediators have long mediated commission disputes between brokerages prior to formal arbitration hearings. In mediation, the money is divided between the brokerages in some percentage per the brokers’ decisions. In arbitration, one party gets the money per the arbitration hearing panel’s decision.

Ethics mediation involves talking to the people involved who may be brokers and REALTORS® and members of the public. Grievances are aired and responses are made. Perhaps, the people involved can bury the hatchet after an apology or some reversal of action or other action or payment of some money or promises to do or refrain from doing something in the future.
