Several members report to SCR that Forewarn has assisted them in thwarting seller impersonation fraud and helped manage stranger buyers who wanted to meet the REALTOR® at a vacant property under suspicious circumstances.
REALTORS® should have a safety plan including check in/out procedures, red file procedures, safety devices, fair housing uniform application, safety training, safety policy, deterrence in advertising and meeting at the brokerage where identity and vehicle and facial records can be made and witnessed, safety actions at the listing (e.g., escape and evade while mobile alerting, having an escape path on foot and in vehicle at all times, checking security of listing before and after showing, knowing and providing the 911 police jurisdiction and 911 directions landmarks, wearing escape assisting clothing, minimizing/securing valuables, having a colleague or assistant on showings, having a safety plan for open houses including talking to the neighbors and enlisting their assistance).
