Hilton Head Realtor® couple Gloria & Allan LaCoe win C. Dan Joyner Community Service Award

COLUMBIA, S.C. (December 10, 2021) — South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) has awarded Hilton Head Realtors® Gloria & Allan LaCoe with its coveted C. Dan Joyner Community Service Award at the association’s awards gala in Columbia, SC. Gloria and Allan LaCoe are both Realtors® with Dunes Real Estate in Hilton Head.

The award is given annually to members whose values represent the utmost in Realtor® professionalism, compassion, and volunteerism and is named in honor of the notable upstate Realtor® and philanthropist, the late C. Dan Joyner.

The couple was recognized for their work with Hilton Head’s Soup Kitchen by the Sea, an organization that helps provide food for struggling families. Throughout the pandemic, the LaCoes helped use their Realtor® connections to assist with the organization’s logistics in feeding more than 270 local families.

Gloria and Allan also have been credited for their leadership with the Free Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner, a yearly event that began in 1999 and serves 1,500 people with 350 volunteers. The event also raises donations for local social service agencies.

In their community, the couple has actively served on numerous boards of directors, including The Children’s Center, People for Parks, the Boys and Girls Club.

Gloria has held many leadership and committee roles at Hilton Head Area Association of REALTORS® (HHAOR). She received REALTOR® of the Year in 2010 and 2020. In 2020, Gloria and Allan also received the Mayor’s Honored Islander Award and were selected as Grand Marshals for the 2020 and 2021 St Patrick’s Day Parades.
