As you all know, Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall in the coming days and directly impact the great state of South Carolina during the same time SCR’s Annual Conference, Own the Future was scheduled in Myrtle Beach.
Unfortunately, the conference is officially canceled and will not be rescheduled due to expected impacts around the state.
SCR will issue attendee registration refunds over the next few weeks.
SCR has also reached out to the hotel regarding reservation cancellations, however the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort and Spa staff have been evacuated. We will update attendees on cancellation procedures as soon as we have more information.
SC REALTORS® is devastated by this turn of events. Hundreds of members, speakers, exhibitors, community members, and sponsors, as well as staff, were scheduled to arrive in Myrtle Beach in a matter of days. SC REALTORS® volunteers and staff, CCAR, along with the City of Myrtle Beach, the Marriott Resort and Spa, speakers, and vendors, have worked tirelessly for more than a year planning these events.
SC REALTORS® staff are currently rescheduling the business meetings including Executive Committee Meeting and Board of Directors as required by our bylaws. Please stay tuned to screaltors.org, your email, and social channels for more information.
Hurricane Florence is a significant storm and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Please heed all warnings from officials in your respective areas and evacuate if directed. While we don’t fully know what is in store for our state over the coming days, it is important that we all prepare for the worst. You can find numerous disaster resources at screaltors.org. Your safety is first priority. Please know that SC REALTORS® is here for you.
