BICs Ensure All Your Licensees Have Renewed Active Licenses at LLR SCREC’s license lookup page following last week’s June 30 renewal deadline:
https://verify.llronline.com/LicLookup/Rec/Rec.aspx?div=19
If any of your associated licensees have lapsed:
1. You can notify your licensee verbally and in writing (e.g., email, so you have a record) that they have lapsed and have _____ days to get active again (e.g., electronic, paperwork, education, fees) while they are completely refraining from practicing real estate (e.g., getting paid, communicating with consumers about real estate) until they have an active license again.
2. Or you turn their license back to LLR if you no longer desire to supervise them.
3. If by several months, they are still lapsed (not active licensees), you consider turning their license back to LLR if you no longer desire to supervise them and desire to manage the risks that a lapsed/inactive associated licensee creates for you and themselves and your brokerage, and consumers by illegally practicing real estate without an active SC real estate license.
4. If they are no longer interested in helping consumers to buy, sell, or lease; perhaps they might be interested in actively joining a brokerage’s referral office so they might legally earn some money for referring the consumers in their sphere. LFRO limited function referral offices can help with this and save the active licensee some money while they properly earn referral dollars.
