In August 1927 REALTORS® from around the country journeyed to Seattle for their 20th annual national convention. Proving that the trip is part of the fun, some of them visited the ranch of famous humorist Will Rogers. On August 3 the Santa Monica and Beverly Hills Realty Boards entertained REALTORS® from Louisiana and Mississippi, including a stop at Rogers’ ranch. There they posed for a photo with the celebrity who famously said, “I never met a man I didn’t like.” Rogers is in the right front of the image, holding his hat in front of him.

Renowned nationwide as a newspaper columnist, radio and movie star, he died in a plane crash in 1935. In 1944 his widow gave the ranch to the state of California. Today it is Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades.
